Custom Incident Management Solutions

Building on its commercial products, OptiMetrics develops custom incident management solutions for both military and civilian applications. OptiMetrics' emphasis on code reusability and modular design enables us to quickly and efficiently create integrated software solutions to meet our customers needs.

Military CBRNe Operations

The core modules of NBCWaRN are constructed so that they can be utilized as components in other software systems that require such capabilities. As shown in the figure, those core modules have been extended and incorporated into a variety of custom applications.

OptiMetrics began working with the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) in 2001. The work supported an Advanced Concept Technology Demonstration (ACTD) at Osan Air Base in Korea. OptiMetrics was tasked to provide a CBRN automated warning and reporting capability for Air Force operations. The ACTD came to a successful conclusion in 2003 and the leave-behind capability is still in use today.

After the Korean ACTD, OptiMetrics supported a number of collaborative exercises. Two major ACTDs were the Contamination Avoidance at Seaports of Debarkation (CASPOD) demonstration and the 2006 Coalition Warrior Interoperability Demonstration (CWID). CWID 2006 was significant because it was the first time that civil and military responders were able to share data across different classifications of networks. We developed the capability to parse military NBC messages into Common Alerting Protocol (CAP) messages and to pass them via the Open Platform for Emergency Networks (OPEN) to the civil responders. The CASPOD and Restoration of Operations (RESTOPS) ACTDs resulted in the AFRL’s development of the Integrated Information Management System (IIMS). Many OptiMetrics-developed CBRNe components are included in IIMS. OptiMetrics continues to support enhancements of IIMS.

NBCWaRN is built on the ATP-45 NATO standard for CBRNe information management. As a result, NBCWaRN’s core capabilities are also of interest to international users. NBCWaRN has been customized and adapted for use in several European Countries.

Civilian Emergency Response

ADASHI can be easily tailored to a particular customer’s requirements. A custom version of ADASHI was integrated with the Czech Republic military CBRNe command and control system. Another customized version of ADASHI is being developed in cooperation with the Los Angles Fire Department for deployment on over five hundred fire response vehicles.
