The successful candidate will act as a Principal Investigator to support the Decontamination Sciences Team at the Edgewood Chemical Biological Center. The position is a blend of fundamental research coupled with scientifically driven deliverables and applications in order to provide state of the art solutions to real world decontamination vulnerabilities. Chemical agent-material-decontaminant interactions studies are performed and evaluated in order to determine decontamination efficacy. Frequent collaboration with the top industry, academic, and government researchers is anticipated.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS: This position requires a well-rounded physical scientist with a fundamental understanding of chemistry, physics, and engineering as they relate to the chemical phenomena studied. Position requirements include design and conduct, data analysis, statistical analysis, and interpretation on large volumes of multivariate data sets.
MS in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or BS Chemistry or Chemical Engineering plus 5 years directly relevant experience will be considered; Doctorate (Ph.D.) degree in Chemistry is a plus. Competence with Microsoft Office, general data analysis and visualization applications as well as proficiency with MatLab is expected.
Candidate must be able to participate in the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP) that requires medical monitoring, ability to wear gas mask, and compliance with random drug screening.

Minimum requirements are bachelors degree in technical field, and at least three years experience developing and deploying complex GIS applications in ESRI ArcGIS environment. ESRI training and excellent verbal skills a must. Experience with Pictometry imagery a plus. A programming background in .NET desirable, but not necessary. Some travel required.
